the experience

Whether you’re coming up on a day trip to escape the hustle of the city, or you’ve spent days wandering through the magical walks on offer at the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, Cradle Mountain Sauna is waiting to take you on a journey of complete rejuvenation and relaxation.

As you walk up to the sauna, you’ll find our Huon Pine open-air shower nestled beneath the trees, inviting you to step under and let the flowing water wash away your stresses.

Upon stepping inside the entry of our sauna, you are embraced by the unforgettable aromas of the Huon Pine and it’s partner in crime, the King Billy Pine. Both of these timbers are endemic to Tassie, and if you have a keen eye for the King Billy, you can still see the living relics through the national park, some of which are over 1000 years old.

Once you’ve hung your towel and robe on the hook, step inside to embrace the warmth. Our Nordic-style sauna is pre-heated to 80-90 degrees Celsius with 10-20% humidity. You will instantly be invited by our oversized bench seats that comfortably seat five people, to just sit back and relax.

The floor-to-ceiling window offers sweeping views of the wilderness and the stunning Cradle Mountain in the distance, a sight that will truly take your breath away. Watch as clouds drift over the mountain or catch glimpses of native wildlife as you unwind. This is wellness that goes beyond the physical; it's a rejuvenating experience for the mind and soul.
